Old Country

My first experience with chickens were at my Grandfathers home, which still stands today much the same generations later. I learned to walk with my chicken companions.
I loved the interdependent, closed, self-maintaining system of farming and keeping livestock and gardens, nothing was wasted, nothing was brought in and everything had a purpose.

My Father and his brothers bagging grain, that's me in white.
My Father and me with the homestead in the background.
Me in practically the same spot 30 years later
The homestead
The chickens
My Uncles chickens
The neighbors chickens
Poultry venders at the town Piaz (market)
Geese, ducks and chickens!
